Money Laundering: Judge Inspects Exhibits in EFCC’s Kano Command

Justice J.E Inyang of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano, on March 1, 2022 temporarily moved proceedings to the premises of the Kano Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as part of locus in quo to view some physical exhibits in the case involving one ex-banker, Rabiu Dawaki, who is being prosecuted by the Commission on money laundering charges

The exhibits inspected included three Mercedes-Benz C Class cars recovered from the defendant during investigation.
After inspecting the exhibits, Justice Inyang returned to court, where proceedings continued with the 1st prosecution witness, (PW1), reviewing the facts of the case.
Afterwards, Justice Inyang adjourned the matter till March 25, 2022 for judgment.
Dawaki had earlier been convicted by a Kano State High Court on charges of conspiracy, misappropriation and criminal breach of trust and sentenced to seventeen years imprisonment.
