Mehmet Ersoy: Intense flow of tourists will be provided to the TRNC in 2023

In his speech at the reception, Ataoğlu stated that Turkey’s contribution to TRNC tourism is undeniable and said, “It is of particular importance for us to host you in your own home.”

Ataoğlu also thanked everyone who contributed to the reopening of the Museum of Barbarism.

Ersoy: “In 2023, we will provide an intense flow of foreign tourists to the TRNC via Turkey”

Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, expressed his happiness at the warm welcome. Ersoy said that the Museum of Barbarism is very important in order not to repeat what happened in the past and to be remembered.

Stating that making the Turkish Cypriot presence and culture known outside of Turkey is one of their primary goals. Ersoy also noted that they will continue to increase their cooperation in this context, in line with the needs.

Stating that while there was a shrinkage in the tourism sector all over the world during the pandemic, it was felt less in Turkey. Minister Ersoy said, “With the work we carried out last year, we ensured the integration of the two groups in terms of promoting the tourism potential of the TRNC abroad. The first studies were carried out successfully in England. With the new airport coming into operation in the near future, we, as the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, are making preparations for both the re-establishment of the international air bridge and the flow of foreign tourists. By 2023, we will provide a very intense flow of foreign tourists to the TRNC via Turkey,” he said.
