CTP stated that there is a need for peace in the world and in Cyprus more than ever, and that the party continues its struggle towards this goal.

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) made a written statement on the occasion of September 1, World Peace Day.

In the statement, it was noted that the CTP, as always, will support the joint action to be organized by the unions of the two communities at the Çetinkaya Stadium within the framework of September 1, World Peace Day.

“THE SOLUTION TO END THE CYPRUS PROBLEM IS THE FEDERAL SOLUTION”

The statement, which was called “Let 1 September World Peace Day, be the beginning of a future that will bring peace to our island,” said:

“The Russia-Ukraine war and the developments in the Middle East have once again revealed the importance of peace. Those who support the ‘two equal sovereign states’ model in the Cyprus problem aim to perpetuate the deadlock and division in Cyprus.

The solution that will end the Cyprus problem is the federal solution.

The federal solution, on the other hand, will be possible with the political will to be put forward in line with the empathy of the parties with each other, ending the discussions on political equality and understanding the minimum security expectations.

Confidence building measures are also of paramount importance as we move towards a comprehensive federal solution.

The negotiation and implementation of confidence building measures is vital for both communities.

Increasing the crossing points and facilitating the transitions will increase socio-cultural relations in both societies and will make a great contribution to the development of economic relations”.

“NEGOTIATIONS TO BE CONDUCTED ON LEGAL FOUNDATION AND WITH A RESULT-ORIENTED METHOD MUST CONTINUE WITHOUT DELAY”

The CTP will continue its efforts to reach a united federal Cyprus based on political equality and will be at the forefront of the struggle for peace and resolution in Cyprus as always.

“In this direction, the negotiations that the Cypriot leaders will carry out on the legitimate ground established by the UN resolutions and parameters and with a result-oriented method should continue simultaneously without further delay.

In today’s world, when the Turkish Cypriot people are driven into democratic and economic poverty, the importance of peace has once again come to the fore.

The Turkish Cypriot people deserve not to be imprisoned in Sarayönü, but to enter into international law and open up to the world.

As long as the CTP exists, the Turkish Cypriot people’s struggle for peace and freedom will continue and it will not let their efforts to perpetuate the deadlock.

Peace is the process of adopting the principle of ‘live and let live’ on a human level with the people we have marginalized for years.

May 1 September, World Peace Day, be the beginning of a future that will bring peace and stability to our island and the world.”

“TO SAY PEACE IN CYPRUS”

In the statement, it was noted that the CTP will support the joint action to be organized by the unions from the two communities at the Çetinkaya Stadium within the framework of September 1, World Peace Day, as always, and said, “We invite all our members and supporters of peace and solution to action.

A call was made to meet at Kuğulu Park at 18.30 to shout peace in the world and in Cyprus with a louder voice.
