Acknowledging the Animal Breeders and Producers Union, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz announced that corn and soybean will be brought to livestock farmers at more affordable prices through the Soil Products Authority.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz received the Head of the Animal Breeders and Producers Union Mustafa Naimoğulları and the accompanying delegation.

Emirali Deveci, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Mehmet Ercilasun, Director of the Ministry; Mehmet Karadayı, Director of SÜTEK; and Gönen Vurana, Director of the Livestock Department, were present at the meeting.

Speaking on behalf of the Animal Producers and Breeders Association, Naimoğulları stated that livestock production is unsustainable due to the increase in input costs, and especially electricity costs should be reshaped for producers.

Naimoğulları demanded that barley prices be reviewed, especially for ovine producers, that they were experiencing great difficulties due to the high barley and feed prices.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz stated that they are aware of the problems and that the problems are not only a common problem of the livestock breeders but also of them, and that a study has been started in this direction, especially in the direction of electricity costs.

Minister Oğuz stated that they will provide information on the studies carried out in the coming days regarding the milk issue and barley prices, and announced that corn and soy will be brought to the livestock farmers at more affordable prices via the Soil Products Authority.

Emphasizing that they always support the producer and production, Oğuz announced that they will do their part as a ministry to reduce input costs.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to meet again on September 28.
