Münür Rahvancıoğlu, Deputy Secretary General of the Road to Independence, said that they will start a legal struggle in Turkey regarding the entry bans.

In his Ankara visit, Deputy Secretary General Münür Rahvancıoğlu stated that he was not allowed to enter the country on the grounds that he was “a person who is threatening Turkey’s security and is banned from entering”.

Emphasizing that the entry ban imposed on him was a “human rights violation”, Rahvancıoğlu argued that Turkey gave assurances as the Turkish Cypriots’ gateway to the world, but at the same time Turkish Cypriots were threatened.

Rahvancıoğlu emphasized that dual citizens are exposed to negativities and are under a serious threat in terms of access to the world for health, education or vacation, and emphasized that they will start a legal struggle in Turkey regarding entry bans.

Rahvancıoğlu stated that they will initiate a legal process from within Turkey for the Turkish Cypriots who are banned from entering Turkey, adding that “N-82 code means a person who is banned from entering Turkey, threatening Turkey’s security, but he was not informed about what this threat is”.

Rahvancıoğlu argued that this was due to his support for a united federal Cyprus.
