Recognize TRNC in Grand National Assembly of Turkey before you promote it – Münür Rahvancıoğlu

Pointing to Turkish President Erdogan’s statement on the recognition of the TRNC at the UN General Assembly, Münür Rahvancıoğlu, Deputy Secretary General of the Road to Independence, said, “If Turkey wants to promote the TRNC, it must first take a decision to recognize it in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.”

In a television program he attended, Münür Rahvancıoğlu, Deputy Secretary General of the Road to Independence, made evaluations about direct flights from Russia and the recognition of Northern Cyprus.

Rahvancıoğlu touched upon the issue of direct flights from Russia and the recognition of the TRNC, which has been on the agenda recently, and that if the Republic of Turkey wants to promote the TRNC, it should decide to recognize it in the Grand National Assembly before going to the UN.

He stated that when its teams play matches, it should allow the TRNC flag to be unfurled in international competitions.

Referring to the tender processes at KIB-TEK , Rahvancıoğlu said, “Tenders are opened, tenders are cancelled, fuel is purchased at much higher amounts, as a result, the people are crushed under the cost, thus paving the way for privatization of the institution.”

Pointing out that privatization is a move made with the aim of creating inputs for public finances, Rahvancıoğlu stated that this is contrary to the socialist and public strengthening policies they advocate.

Rahvancıoğlu stated that it is not possible to create an income for the finances with day-to-day policies by selling public goods and said.

“The current state of public enterprises is very good, we cannot say that it should continue as it is. Of course, there should be an improvement, but the solution is not to donate it to the private sector.”

Commenting on the law on municipalities, Rahvancıoğlu stated that the unification of municipalities or the enlargement of the scale is what should have been, but negative results have been experienced in the country since 1974, and those who set out with a lot of promises were always disappointed.

Expressing the opinion that the public’s distrust of the rulers is at an extreme level, Rahvancıoğlu said that trying to pass the law without discussion causes chaos.

Rahvancıoğlu said, “People seriously doubt the idea of unification, and those who say they will merge, actually do not miss the opportunity of profit from the old habit of the short day.”

Rahvancıoğlu also mentioned how the opposition should be in this process and said:

“This process was not the problem of a party or individuals, it was everyone’s problem. Everyone who wants to stand up for the will of the Turkish Cypriots in the social sense should come together as in the process of “rejecting”, we should go everywhere together, we should be told what kind of an intervention in our will and what kind of results it will have.”

Referring to the education issue, Rahvancıoğlu reminded that they support full-time education and pointed out that full-time education is a situation that requires serious public investment.

Referring to the Famagusta-Iskele-New Bosphorus Ordinance, Rahvancıoğlu claimed that a “capital project” was created, privatized by the construction capital and without the state.
