Court sentence man arrested for drugs importation to prison

The verdict against Dalenten Edume Ejabe, who imported drugs weighing 200 grams, was announced. Ejabe was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

Judge Barkın announced the unanimous decision of the committee composed of President Fadıl Aksun, Senior Judge Vedia Berkut Barkın, and Judge Murat Soytaç, constituting the Nicosia Heavy Penal Court.

Barkın underlined the seriousness and prevalence of the crime committed by the accused.

Barkın stated that they evaluated against the defendant’s importation of the subject drug and the existence of a similar case pending.

Barkın emphasized the importance of imposing deterrent punishments, stating that the crime for which the accused was convicted was one of the crimes that entailed a long-term prison sentence and harmed the public.

Judge Barkın stated that the accused should be given serious deterrent punishment for such crimes and evaluated the facts in favor and against them and stated that they sentenced the accused to 3 years and 6 months in prison for the crimes he had committed.
