Female suspect arrested for battering police in Ercan arraigned

Police sergeant Hamza Tarman, who gave sworn testimony in the court, conveyed the facts.

The police stated that at around 07:00 yesterday, at Ercan Airport, 33-year-old Burcu Aydiğdu, who was under the influence of alcoholic beverages, displayed an inappropriate attitude and behavior by giving her old plane ticket and yelling and swearing at the officials without a reasonable excuse, while she was going to have an immigration procedure.

The police said that she barred the police from their duties by swearing at the police officers on duty, kicking a police sergeant and a female police officer by continuing their outrage in the police station where the suspect, who was arrested after the incident, was taken. The police stated that the suspect smelled alcohol from her breath, but did not allow an alcohol test.

The police said that the investigation regarding the matter was completed and demanded that the court give an appropriate guarantee in order to ensure that they are ready for their cases in the future.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered the suspect to be remanded pending trial, on the condition that she be present at the trial, prohibited from going abroad, report in person to the nearest police station one day a week and that she deposits 20 thousand TL in cash.
