The suspects, Khaled Sameer Khaled Omar and Arbab Tarig, who were found to be fugitives in the country, were arrested and brought before the court.

Police sergeant Hüseyin Ergüleç, who gave sworn testimony in the court, under the immigration control of 27-year-old Khaled Sameer Khaled Omar, who is a resident of Nicosia, within the Judicial Branch Headquarters of the Nicosia Police Department has been without a residence permit in the TRNC since 30 September 2020. On October 2, 2022, at 13.30 he was arrested due to his alleged red-handed state.

The police stated that the investigation launched against the suspect has been completed and that he has no ties to the TRNC.

Ergüleç, on 2 October 2022 at around 20.30, was found to be residing in the TRNC without a residence permit since 20 April 2021, during the immigration control of 24-year-old Arbab Tarıg, a resident in Nicosia, which is within the Judicial Branch Headquarters of the Nicosia Police Department, for investigation purposes. He said he had been arrested accordingly.

Stating that the suspect is a Pakistani citizen and has no ties to the TRNC, Ergüleç demanded that the two suspects be held in pre-trial detention in order to be present in the case that will be held in the future.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered that both suspects be held in prison for a period not exceeding one month.
