The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release regarding the allegations that the TRNC airspace was violated by US warplanes.

In the written statement made by the Ministry, it was noted that the news of Greek origin in the press that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) airspace was violated by the warplanes of the United States (USA) did not reflect the truth.

In the statement, which stated that it was clear that Greek Cypriot sources were trying to create a meaningless tension by making false news on a military issue, it was noted that all activities taking place around the country’s airspace were constantly followed closely by the relevant institutions.

The following statements were used in the statement:

“During their activities, it was observed that the warplanes in question returned without violating the TRNC airspace.

It should be known that the scenarios that may occur during the exercise have been evaluated in advance and the necessary equipment has been taken. In this context, we would like to emphasize that the security of the TRNC people is always under the absolute guarantee of our Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces and Security Forces Command, especially our Motherland Turkey.”
