Suspect arrested for trailer theft rearraigned

In the incident that took place in Nicosia, the suspect Murat Gören, who circulated the caravan belonging to someone else and sold it to someone else for 35 thousand TL, will remain in detention for 3 more days as part of the investigation.

The suspect Murat Gören, who was arrested on charges of “Circade” and “Frauding Money”, was brought before the court.

Police officer Soner Şaban, who gave sworn testimony in the court, stated that the suspect Murat Gören, who was present, was accused of “Circade” and “Fraud Money” crimes.

Police stated that on 21 November 2022 at 16.30 hours, the suspect Murat Gören obtained money fraudulently by selling the Cameo 550 GL model caravan belonging to the resident BC in Nicosia, which was parked in the car parking lot of the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Nicosia to the quiet TT in Kyrenia for 35 thousand TL

Şaban stated that the suspect was identified on 23 December 2022 and was arrested as per the pending order, and that he was brought before the Nicosia District Court on the same date and an additional detention order was given by the court for 3 days.

The police said that a letter on a piece of paper that the suspect wrote and signed that he sold the caravan in question for 35 thousand TL was detected and the said paper was seized as evidence.

Şaban stated that a handwriting and signature sample was taken from the suspect for examination and stated that the suspect gave a voluntary statement on 24 December 2022, that he made some allegations and that his allegations should be investigated.

Pointing out that the investigation regarding the matter is still ongoing, Şaban noted that the suspect’s voluntary statement must be confirmed and disclaimed, the person being sought and statements that need to be taken.

The police demanded that the suspect be kept in police custody for 3 days, as it is highly likely to affect the person wanted and the statements to be taken if the suspect is released.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered the suspect to be detained for 3 days.
