Liverpool’s forward Diogo Jota is set for an extended spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury sustained during Liverpool’s recent victory over Brentford. This adds to manager Jurgen Klopp’s growing list of injury concerns as they continue their pursuit of Premier League success.

In the match against Brentford, both Jota and midfielder Curtis Jones were forced off the pitch in the first half due to injuries. Jones left the stadium with the assistance of crutches after injuring his ankle, while Jota had to be carried off on a stretcher. Additionally, forward Darwin Nunez was substituted due to a knock.

Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai for their upcoming home game against Luton on Wednesday. Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip remain sidelined as well.

Addressing the injury situation, Klopp expressed the challenges his team is facing, acknowledging that they have some issues to deal with. He mentioned the absence of key players and highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the timeframe for Jota’s recovery, stating that it could be “months” before he returns to action.

Klopp emphasized the importance of evaluating the injuries on a day-by-day basis and praised the contributions of squad players who have stepped up in challenging situations. He also mentioned Liverpool’s involvement in various competitions, including the Premier League title race, the League Cup final against Chelsea, and their participation in the FA Cup and Europa League.
