Van Nistelrooy hails ‘number one’ Vardy after Leicester striker breaks Premier League record

The England international has now scored in 11 consecutive games and overtaken the benchmark set by the former Manchester United striker in 2003Ruud van Nistelrooy has hailed Jamie Vardy after the Leicester City striker broke the Dutchman’s Premier League record by scoring in 11 consecutive games.

Vardy, who had already equalled the Dutchman’s record set in 2003, struck in the first half of Leicester’s clash with Manchester United on Saturday to set a new benchmark.
