Near East Automobile: Tatar Test Drive With Günsel

Yesterday morning, President Ersin Tatar visited the Near East Formation and made a test drive with the Turkish Cypriots’ domestic car GÜNSEL and received information about production preparations.

Following the test drive and information meeting, President Ersin Tatar and the Near East Formation Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel made statements.

According to the statement made by the Presidency, President Tatar congratulated NEU Founding Rector Suat Günsel, Near East Formation Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel and all those who contributed. Tatar said that it is a great vision to make great contributions to the country’s economy with domestic automobile production in our country and that it takes great will and teamwork to realize this vision.

President Tatar congratulated the entire Günsel team for these works and pointed out the importance of providing engineering services from the TRNC to developed countries.

President Tatar stated that this work, which he described as ‘a great contribution and a great respect for the TRNC’, is promising for the future and that it is of great importance for the country’s exports, budget deficit and environment in the future thanks to the work and investment.

Stating that savings will be achieved from imports and fuel in terms of both domestic production and electricity transition, President Tatar said that the savings of large figures paid to imports due to increasing fuel prices will be instrumental in both investments and allow the budget deficit to turn into a budget surplus. Referring to the fact that electric vehicles are a big step in terms of protecting the environment and preventing pollution, President Tatar also expressed that they are important in terms of protecting human health and made the assessment that “it is an extraordinarily exciting project for the TRNC to make its name known in the world.”
