Dr. Suat Günsel State Primary School Famagusta was handed over to the Directorate of Primary Education Department with a ceremony. The delivery and opening ceremony of the 500-person full-fledged primary school was held in Famagusta today.
The ceremony was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, GKK Commander Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, some ministers, deputies, bureaucrats and Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Formation Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and other officials attended.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem. After the speeches, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Formation Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel delivered the primary school to the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu. Then, with the participation of the protocol, the ribbon was cut and the primary school was opened.

President Ersin Tatar congratulated those who contributed to the giant project. Stating that the Founding Rector Suat Günsel was laying the foundations of great works with his vision, vast experience, worldview and devotion to the TRNC years ago. Tatar stated that he believed in the TRNC and that he believed in the future of the TRNC, and noted that Günsel took giant steps with courage.
Emphasizing that Suat Günsel is a valiant, courageous businessman and a citizen who has served the TRNC to this stage. Tatar also congratulated İrfan Suat Günsel and expressed what can be done and achieved for the TRNC economy and future with the “Günsel” electric car project.
Tatar continued his speech as follows:
“Despite the struggle we waged on these lands and the injustice done to us by the whole world, our cry from here, these voices coming from the TRNC to the whole world. It is a great pride and pride for us, with the roadmap and the indicator of what a people you push, try to oppress can achieve with their institutions and organizations.”
Looking at the events in the Eastern Mediterranean, Tatar pointed to the new policy determined by the Republic of Turkey in the struggle for hydrocarbons, and emphasized that these projects and successes are the most obvious proof that an agreement can only be achieved in Cyprus with the cooperation of two separate sovereign equal states living side by side.

President Tatar stated that it is the TRNC’s success to be able to achieve all these as a sovereign state, to create works of art, to look to the future with hope, to give hope to the people, youth and new generations.
Drawing attention to the number of students in higher education, Tatar stated that despite the pandemic, the crisis and the serious negativities caused by the Ukraine war, the road continued successfully. Expressing that he knows that there are problems in purchasing power with the increase in foreign exchange “but the important thing is to look to the future with hope.”
Emphasizing that he has no doubt that the TRNC will successfully emerge from these stages in the medium and long term, considering the works carried out in the state in terms of public finances. President Tatar wished that the third school opened after Nicosia and Iskele would be instrumental in good luck.
Expressing that nearly 500 students will receive education at the school in the near future. President Tatar also expressed support for the work of the Ministry of Education, stating that the teachers affiliated to the Ministry of National Education will train the students. Tatar stated the importance of educating the students for the future and preparing them for the future with the national consciousness, spirituality, traditions and love of the TRNC.

Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu started his speech by thanking the Günsel family for making such a proud day live.
Çavuşoğlu said, “one cannot move into the future and live without cultivating the land, reconstructing the homeland, and being a philanthropist”. He said that with the contributions of patriots like Suat Günsel, their belief and motivation in the state increase day by day.
“We have brought 10 schools to the country” Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that in the last 4 years, together with the former Minister of Education Olgun Amcaoğlu, they brought 10 schools to the country, 7 of which were given by the state and 3 of which were built by the state.
Nazım Çavuşoğlu stated that since the day these schools were opened, they faced a demand far beyond their capacity and said, “Dr. Suat Günsel State Primary School Famagusta and “Dr. Suat Günsel pointed out that the State Primary School Pier is above the country’s standards.

Near East Initiative Chairman of the Board of Trustees in his speech, stated that 20 months ago, at the Günsel Family Board, they decided to build 6 state primary schools, each with a capacity of 500 students, in 6 districts of the country, and give it to the children of the country.
After Nicosia and Iskele, stating that they have delivered Suat Günsel State Primary School to the Ministry of National Education Department of Primary Education. Günsel noted that they will also build primary schools in Girne, Güzelyurt and Lefke.
Emphasizing that every piece of work that the Near East Organization opens in every sector it operates in belongs to the public. Günsel also gave information about the production facilities of Günsel, the country’s domestic and national electric car, and said that they started to develop projects for very important companies.
Explaining that the electric car “Günsel”, which is based on high technology and industry, will begin mass production in 18 months. İrfan Suat Günsel also talked about his future goals.
Noting that they will make new openings in the region after 3 months. Günsel announced that they will open the Near East University Faculty of Medicine Yeniboğaziçi Hospital and the Near East Yeniboğaziçi Grand Library on November 15, the 39th anniversary of the Republic.
