Suspect arrested for warehouse burglary sentenced to prison

The accused Atilla Bilgiç, who broke into a shop in Gönyeli and stole 4,960 TL with a blank check sheet, was sentenced to 7 months in prison.

The verdict against Atilla Bilgiç, who is on trial for opening a shop, was announced yesterday.

Judge Barkın announced the unanimous decision of the committee composed of President Fadıl Aksun, Senior Judge Vedia Berkut Barkın, and Judge Murat Soytaç, constituting the Nicosia Heavy Penal Court.

Senior Judge Vedia Berkut Barkın, who read the verdict, underlined the seriousness of the shop-opening crimes that the defendant was convicted of.

Emphasizing the importance of the right to property, which is protected by the Constitution, Barkın explained that they had given a 7-month prison sentence by mentioning all the issues in favor and against the accused.

Atilla Bilgiç, who entered the warehouse of Deftera Gıda LTD. operating on Atatürk Caddesi in Gönyeli on 11 May 2022 between 18.30 and 08.00, with the intention of committing a crime by damaging the wall part of the 3×4 meter west facing iron sliding door padlock mounted on it.
