Chain traffic accident on Kyrenia-Nicosia main road, four injured

In the chain traffic accident that occurred early this morning on the Kyrenia – Nicosia main road, 4 people were injured.

According to the information given by the Police Press Officer; 25-year-old Sılas Mazuru, who was driving in the south direction under the influence of 179 mg alcoholic drink, with a JE 745-plate saloon vehicle under his management, on the right lane of the double-lane road, between the 3-4 km of the Kyrenia – Nicosia main road, at around 04:00 today.

As a result of his carelessness, the pickup truck with 35 APJ 182 plate, led by 39-year-old Reyhan Uzun, which was driving towards the south in the right lane for safety purposes, crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

The vehicle with license plate JE 745, which was thrown uncontrollably after the impact, came out from the left of the road and crashed into the earthen embankment.

After the accident, Barış Tilki, who was driving in the same direction as the saloon vehicle with PL 857 license plate under his management, in the right lane, was trying to cross into the left lane in order not to crash into the vehicle with license plate 35 APJ 182, which was standing in the right lane.

The taxi with license plate TJY 404 under the direction of Süleyman Şensoy hit the vehicle from behind. Following the collision, the vehicle with license plate PL 857, which was thrown uncontrollably, also crashed into the vehicle with license plate 35 APJ 182, which was standing in the right lane after the accident.

The vehicle with plate TJY 404, which was thrown uncontrollably due to the impact of the collision, crashed into the right rear part of the vehicle with the plate SU 214 under the direction of Orçun Özüorçun, who was standing in the left shoulder.

Sılas Mazuru, the driver of the vehicle with license plate JE 745, who was injured as a result of the accident, Marsha Danre, 24, who was with him as a passenger, Trish Manyonga, 24, and Öykü Balıkçıoğlu, 44, who was a passenger in the vehicle with PL 857 plate, were taken to Nicosia by ambulance. After their treatment at Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, they were taken under surveillance.

Police investigation into the accident continues.
