Herald Poems: Alone With You In My Mind

Photo by Patrick Hendry on Unsplash

Sometimes, we never stop loving someone even deep down in our heart we know they have hurt us, but we still find a place in our heart to forgive and accept them when they right their wrongs. I hope you enjoy this poem.  You can have your say in the comment section. You can find all my poems here.

I feel it the most at night
Tell me, how do I fight it?
It creeps in slowly,
The light has disappeared.

I have been alone for a while,
But only with you in my mind,
I am stuck here with the memories
We shared together.

I am so cold inside
Since you told me that you
Are missing someone else,
I have no reasons to doubt you.

It’s being a rough summer,
I have been hurting,
Looking for someone
To make it right.

I guess someone else is what
You need to make you feel alright,
I should know this could
Never end well,
But I never learn.

I need you for myself,
I wish you can see the pain I have seen
I am trying my best to be okay,
But it’s so hard to be okay.

Heavy from the hurt inside my veins,
My friend said it’s going to be okay,
But my friend don’t know
What it’s like in my mind.

I gave you the best of me
But you gave it away to
Someone worth much
Less than me,
Now there’s no us.

I remember all the times you
told me you have my back,
Now we are going our separate paths.
I have been waiting for the day
You will say you want me back.

Yes, I still love you,
Yes, I still care about you,
Yes, I still think about you,
Yes, I just want the life we had,
Yes, I don’t want to let you go.
